Thursday night, March 14, was a night of support as members of the Fall River police department, fire department and Mayor Will Flanagan helped tend the bar to raise money for the Fly Foundation and Chip Strong at the St. James Irish Pub.

A full orchestra composed entirely of volunteer student and professional musicians will perform a program of famous classical works in Durgin Hall on the University of Massachusetts Lowell South Campus at 8pm on Saturday, June 23rd. All proceeds from the Concert for Hope Orchestra 2012 will benefit the FLY Foundation.

The FLY Foundation is pleased to announce that four additional grants have been awarded to young adults in our Massachusetts and Rhode Island communities to cover their medical and living expenses as they undergo cancer treatment over the next few months.

The FLY Foundation is pleased to share the following testimonial from its first grant recipieint, who recently received a prosthetic eye. On request, the Foundation will preserve the anonymity of its recipients to ensure confidentiality of their sensitive medical and financial circumstances.
"When I was diagnosed with cancer I didn't know who to turn to. I felt lost, alone and misunderstood. The FLY Foundation changed that. They welcomed me with open arms as if I were family... only caring about how they could help me get through this. They helped me deal not only with my cancer diagnosis but also with the loss of my eye. I will always appreciate what The FLY Foundation has done for me and I will never forget the new friends I have made."
